Nowadays the breed is more known for being connected to the Royal family, with the Queen owning an incredible 16 Corgis alone.
Breed Description – Small in stature and low-balanced, Welsh Corgis are an attractive dog with almost fox-like facial features. The reason for having such short legs dates back to their herding days, where they would coax forward the herd by nipping at their heels – due to their small size, any subsequent kicks would sail safely over their heads.
Special Needs – Prone to weight issues, you should take special care to ensure that you do not overfeed your Corgi. A healthy weight is essential for ensuring a long and happy life. You should also regularly brush their fur to help prevent excessive shedding, as this breed does tend to moult more than others. Life expectancy is up to 15 years old.
